Description: Scottish international honours cap understood to have been issued to a Scottish player representing the Scottish Football League v the Irish League in the match played at Windsor park, Belfast on 5th November 1913 in front of a crowd of 6,000. Scotland won the game 2 - 1 with James Reid of Airdrieonians scoring both Scottish goals. The name of the recipient of the cap is unknown. NOTE: It was typical for Scottish honours caps relating to Football League Representative teams to have the silver braiding seen in the photos whilst full international caps had no braiding. The cap is made from a very dark blue velvet with silver braiding "S v I 1913". It has a silver braid tassel with a cream silk liner bearing the 'ETON" branding. Summary: Early Scottish honours caps are very collectable and, despite the fraying to the lining mention in the condition report, this is an excellent example & over 110 years old. Good luck!
