Description: Lovely late 19th century Chinese export style armorial bowl most probably by Edme Samson, Paris. Hand-painted famille rose style with raised enamel decoration and an armorial featuring a Lion and Unicorn holding a shield. There is a further armorial on the other side of a surprised looking dog guarding a shield. The bowl is a fraction over 4'' (10.2 cm) high and just under 9'' (22.6 cm) across. It weighs just over 1 kilos unpacked so is a substantial bowl. The colours are still bright with some fading in the centre. There is minor loss to the gilt edge but no chips. The only issue is a Y shaped hairline to the base. I don't think it is deep as the bowl rings true. Please see photos. I will pack carefully and post fully tracked.
