My 7 1/2" (height of doll only,height does not include head basket) rubber doll is clean. Colors are still bright and vivid. There are no unusual smells. The sticker on her foot that reads "Galinheiros" leads me to believe she was an adorable reminder of a travel adventure to that village. After a wonderful distraction to learn more about the possible history of this adorable doll it seems unlikely that there would be a store in the tiny village of Galinheiros. This tiny village is on the island of Fogo and part of Cape Verde. Fogo is the only one of those islands to have an active volcano. Fogo is famous for the most beautiful people in the world and Galinheiros is described by visitors as one of the most unique places to visit; wonderful peace and quiet but with the constant threat of an active volcano. Her woven head basket sits upon a colorful blue and green circular piece that is attached to the head basket and kerchief. Her black hair is only visible from under her kerchief around her face. It is sewn into her head. When peaking to see how much hair she actually has, I was surprised to see that her hair does cover her head and is braided up under her kerchief as seen in the last photo. She has a cute rubber face with shiny blue (painted on or adhered on during manufacturing?) eyes that do not open and close, tiny painted on lashes and eye brows, plump little cheeks. She does have a greenish-blue pencil point size dot on her left cheek a bit below her earlobe but toward her cheek. I used a pencil to point out the dot in the tenth photo. There is a smaller dot on her forehead that I point out in the eleventh photo. Her clothing is clean and in good repair. Her kerchief, blouse and apron are made from the same type of fabric resembling a silk, organza, or a rayon? I do not know how to tell the difference but I can say that there is a bit of shine to the fabric and it has a very slight texture. The fabric is not stretchy. Her sleeves, apron and undergarments are all trimmed with the same white lace. The fabric of her black skirt is heavier than that of her kerchief, blouse, and apron. Under the skirt she wears a red silky slip over white pantaloons both trimmed with the same white lace. I have never tried to remove her clothing. To dress up her outfit, she has a necklace of gold colored metal and can be gently pulled to vary the length of the two "loops" of the necklace. Her arms and head are separate pieces from her torso but they do not move. I can not see the tops of the legs but they must be separate pieces as do move back and forth a little bit. The rubber of her arms has a little "give" but they are not able to be bent or moved up or down. Her legs She wears black "scuff" style shoes that are molded to her feet. She does stand up pretty well on her own. There is a sticker on the bottom of one shoe that reads in very neat cursive "Galinheiro". The sticker is pretty well attached but sticks up a bit at the corners. All of the photos in all of my listings are of the actual item my buyers will receive.
