Saint Laurent 2012 L01

Description: You've probably seen the Saint Laurent L01 before, you may have seen the 2012 L01, but i doubt you've ever seen the 2012 L01 in a size 56! Truly a rarity amongst the L01's, 2012 was the first year the L01 was ever made. Hedi Slimane famously started his tenure at Saint Laurent in 2012, working on an undercover, off the radar mens collection that released towards the end of the year, with no runway or announcement of the release. The L01 was part of this collection, the very first iteration of one of the most iconic jackets in modern fashion history. A size 56 L01 is rare enough in the still produced model, but in the 2012 model, it's like seeing a unicorn. This is the only available one on the internet, and I don't think there will be another for sale anytime soon. This first year model fits a lot smaller and very cropped when compared to later releases, fitting closer to a current model size 52 but with a cropped fitment. This makes it ideal as a dress jacket, but of course you wear it how you want to. The condition is close to perfect, not a single scuff, mark or blemish on the outside nor the inside, considering it's now 12 years old, this is remarkable. Anything that looks like a defect is due to lighting. The leather has slightly relaxed due to age but has no defects at all, Saint Laurent's lamb leather is something to behold, it is buttery smooth and incredibly supple whilst still having a fair amount of weight to it. The original owner never wore it due to its small sizing and it has been in storage ever since until I purchased it. All measurements are made with the jacket done up.
