A good copy with slightly soiled wrappers. Lev Aleksandrovich Yudin (1903-1941) - was an illustrator, designer, and painter. His artistic journey began at an early age when his mother taught him the art of crafting paper silhouettes, often depicting various animals during playtime. He started attending the art studio of the renowned Kazimir Malevich and eventually pursued formal art education at the art institute under Malevich's guidance. In 1922, following the footsteps of his mentor, Lev Yudin relocated to Petrograd. During his time in Petrograd, he enrolled at VKHUTEMAS (the Higher State Art and Technical Studios) from 1922 to 1923 and actively participated in various art exhibitions, starting in 1920. In 1923, Lev Yudin assumed the role of a teacher at the State Institute of Art Culture, where he collaborated closely with Kazimir Malevich. As the late 1920s and 1930s unfolded, Lev Yudin became associated with a group of artists focused on painting and sculpture realism alongside notable figures such as Vera Ermolaeva, Vladimir Sterligov, and Anatoly Rozhdestvensky. In 1932, he officially became a member of the Union of Artists. Tragically, Lev Yudin lost his life on the Leningrad frontline during his very first combat experience in 1941.
