Description: Reserved for formal dining occasions, the beautiful Piper Platinum dinnerware features an opulent platinum lattice design and edging on a pristine white background. Named after Enoch Piper, a Royal Doulton designer in the early 1900s, this pattern draws on his motifs, as recorded in the company's archived sketchbooks, and updates them with some contemporary styling. Slight variations in the banding on individual pieces create a rich display on a dining room table. Piper Platinum dinnerware is made of bone china — fine china that has had bone ash added to the clay to produce a true white color — which is considered the strongest and most prestigious type due to its 18th-century English origins. This place setting is also made in the classic bone China shape, a vintage dinnerware style from the 19th century. All pieces are safe for the dishwasher at low temperatures to avoid harming the platinum trim. The platinum trim on this pattern means it is not safe for use in the microwave. Royal Doulton Piper Platinum (H5296) was produced from 2002 to 2004. Measures 7” tall, 10.5” wide, and 5.25” deep. Weighs 1 lb 14 oz prior to packaging. Check my other listings, I have quite a few collectible Teapots.
