Description: Round VIKING HORSE SHIELD Available here is a beautiful hand-painted wooden shield featuring a design inspired by Viking and Norse shields of old. It features a heavy metal disc/boss in the center, and has stainless steel studs lining the border. Dual leather straps are used to secure the arm along the back—one going over the forearm and one intended to be gripped or held. The shield is made out of a 1/2 inch thick smooth composite wood which is considerably stronger than plywood. The front of the shield has also been applied with several coats of topcoat/varnish to protect it through the years. It measures about 25 inches in diameter—more than enough to cover your arm way past the elbow. Whether for the wall or the battlefield, this shield is well balanced and ready to serve. This item would be perfect for that upcoming Renaissance Festival in your area. Or some friendly backyard brawling between friends....
