Description: Vintage HO scale AHM/Rivarossi Union Pacific 4-6-6-4 Challenger Locomotive with Centipede Coal Tender in Very Good Overall Condition. Road # 3978, . Made in Italy. Take a look at the photos (enlarged) and see what you think. (Pardon any camera flash reflection.) ALL factory-installed detail parts appear to be present as loco looks to have been very gently run! Loco was track-tested and it ran smoothly, for just a few feet in both directions on a straight track to confirm it runs. I don't think it had been run in a long time, because the more it ran/warmed-up, the better and better it ran! Headlight illuminates, but it is not very bright. The tender has a factory installed snap-in horn-hook coupler, which can be easily swapped out by buyer for a McHenry, if desired. Tender does not utilize electrical pick-up. (The loco will run without the tender.) The loco is mostly two-tone gray in color with silver smokebox & firebox, black trim . Also has gray "elephant ears" (smoke deflectors). . Loco is being sold "As Is", of course, so be sure to thoroughly review all the photos and ask any questions before buying! No box, therefore I will individually bubble-wrap and very carefully pack for shipping. This AHM/Rivarossi UP Gray Challenger locomotive is long out-of-production, so now is your chance to own one!
