Description: New - open box never used. I purchased a while ago and haven’t used my lathe - decided to go a different direction. RIKON's 70-800 four-piece turning system was developed for both the experienced and novice wood turner. It features a machined aluminum handle and three steel shafts tipped with tungsten carbide cutters that keep their sharp cutting edges longer than typical carbon or high-speed steel tools. When a cutter does become dull, just rotate it to work with a new edge -- changes only take seconds! The handle features an anti-vibration grip and a tool-free forward chucking system. To change out the cutter shaft, simply unscrew the chuck collet to remove and/or insert a cutter shaft and tighten the collar. You are now ready to turn! The handle is hollow and features a removable end cap to add a longer handle extension if desired (available separately). In addiiton, the handle's chuck features a threaded side hole to install an optional side handle for extra stability while turning larger bowls or platters (available separately). The three cutter shafts have a circle, a square or a diamond-shaped carbide insert cutter attached to their ends with a T20 screw. The shafts are finely machined with flat-milled bottoms and two beveled sides to provide extra stability on the tool rest while turning larger pieces. The bottom flat aligns with the cutter to keep it in a flat position for scrape cutting. The two beveled sides provide extra support when the cutter is shifted to an askew position for shear cutting. The set includes one (1) 16" handle, three (3) 8-3/8" shafts with a circle, square or diamond carbide cutter head, and a T20 wrench, all packaged in a presentation storage box.
