Description: The November 6, 1775 Rhode Island issue was printed on thin paper by John Carter. This note has a minimalistic typeset design with an emblem of an anchor encircled by the latin motto “IN TE DOMINE SPERAMUS” (In you, Lord, we trust). There is also a fish on the top border. This issue is generally scarce in every denomination. Lower denominations, such as this note were printed with a blank back. Only 10 examples of this 6 Pence note are known to exist today. Incredibly rare note for under $200. Newman lists this note for $1500 in Fine. Signers: John G.
