Description: This booklet was prepared by the superior of the order of the holy Cross and printed in 1919. The essay was read before the clerical union of New York City in 1918 and here is printed in an elaborated version. The author states that “he fully recognizes that the subject is a perplexing one, and often the historical facts are difficult of access as well as of interpretation. As an aid to the future, study the problem he would be grateful for correction and criticism, both from those who are in agreement with his standpoint, and those who may oppose it.” This book is not an explanation of the liturgy and practice of reservation so much as the history and theology behind it. So this is more of a theology book than a prayer book. This is a paperback book and very good condition for its age. There is no writing or highlighting inside, and no turned pages. As you can see there may be some aging to the text, but it is still in good shape. I am a retired priest/professor and I am trying to find good homes for all of the books that I have collected over the years. This rare and old edition now over 100 years old needs to find a new home with someone who will take care of it for the future.
