Description: This is a reproduction of the very rare Merwin & Hulbert .38 by Winchester. To date, the few extant original boxes do not have a side wrapper. This box dates to the early to mid 1880's. The reproduction box is, of course, empty. NOTE: The label on this particular box has the same glossy finish as the original. Because of this, the printing can sometimes be fragile. Until I find a better paper that will replicate the correct gloss and color, I recommend this box only be used for display. All of the boxes I've recreated all date from the 1860's - 1880's and are what collectors now, for obvious reasons, refer to as "picture boxes." These are not photocopies or printed from pictures I've Googled. These are high resolution, digital recreations. I have attached a picture of an original box for comparison.
