Description: Report of the Committee on Internal Improvements with References to a Road Across the Sierra Nevada, State of California Government Printing Office, 1855. Authored by Sherman Day, this government report was one of the first published references in regards to the future creation of a new road across the insurmountable Sierra Nevada mountains. Many of these pamphlets were torn or disbound from the larger bound government volumes, however this copy has been carefully trimmed and shows a moderate level of foxing and wear to the cover and title pages. Pamphlet is enclosed in a custom cloth clamshell box with title and year of publication on box spine. Pamphlet is better than very good overall in a lovely near fine, custom cloth clamshell box.
