Stan Hisel was born in Salem, Oregon in 1951 and moved to Seattle in 1964. He taught himself drawing, painting and color theory; between 1969 and 1973 Hisel studied many forms of printmaking with a focus on serigraphy. In order to experiance working with various serigraph techniques Hisel worked in industrial design, owning and operating a facility for fabricating two-dimensional graphic designs from 1974 to 1978. His work has be exhibited at Picture Source Northwest in Seattle and Art Expo West in Los Angeles. In this lithograph Hisel has created a beautiful symmetrical image where the the two mountains with their trees are reflections of each other, in addition to the reflections in the surface of the water.
