Calling all well dressed ladies....is that You, are you ready for a distinctive researched 18th c style hat, perfect with upscale colonial clothing?Hat is made of thick steamed pressed Chocolate Brown Pure wool into a hat slight oval measuring 6 3/4" x 8 " inches underneath head opening, sporting a pinned up (cocked) single sided shape with matching flat chocolate brown Tape Trim all around edges in and outside to prevent fray or warp.. The crown hump provides all day comfort, fitted with leather inside sweat band to add grip, and with good care, we expect this hat to serve at least ten years in the field. The brim, measuring 3" wide, has edges trimmed and wrapped in matching deep chocolate brown flat tape to prevent unravelling, and fitted with an inside leather sweat band ring to provide good grip in wearing and avoid dampness collecting near head contact. This size hat is complimentary to womens' appearance and overall size. A flat silver Silk Ribbon band is affixed around crown, with a delicious maroon Cockade in Satin fabric with Gold Tone "eye" shaped round button center. A cluster of trailing Pheasant Tail Feathers finishes the Market Hat look. These materials alone are expensive details of high quality.Colonial Hats are measured differently than Western, or Commercial hat products so I prefer to go by the actual numerical measurement I get with a flexi tape around the inner base of the hat which is 22 3/4" via base of leather sweat band. (Even with high pony tail, it fits me, is good size for all average women.)
