Description: Red Wing Art Pottery was started in 1929 until 1935. They produced the Grand Piano Planter #M-1525 during this period. They used a Bristol glaze that resulted in a uniform, bone white surface. This beautiful Grand Piano is a must-have for any collector. I have researched my many pottery books and the internet, and I could not find this piano anywhere. I finally searched the stock number and was able to verify when the planter was made. The planter is very pretty, well done and heavy in weight. Please view my pictures. In some of them, the legs appear to be a little rough, but they are smooth. In 1935 Red Wing Art Potteries became Red Wing Potteries located in Red Wing, Minnesota and closed in 1967. The planter measures 4 1/2" in height x 9 3/4" in width x 11" in length (front to back). Inside of the piano where you would put flowers or a plant it measures 1 3/4" deep. Excellent condition with no dings, chips, cracks or discoloration. It was in my mother's curio cabinet for as long as I can remember, and it has been in my curio cabinet since 2001.
