Description: Up for sale here is this recap kit for a pair of Radio Shack Optimus 1 speakers. This will let you completely recap two (2) Optimus 1 speakers. This is not for the Optimus 1B speakers; that kit is here. These are brand new Supertech MPT (metallized polypropylene film) capacitors, which are super-high-quality and will sound nice and clear. There are two different crossover designs for the Optimus 1 speakers. The #40-1969 version uses two 6.6 uf caps and two 4 uf caps. The #40-1969A version uses two 33 uf caps. If you have the 33 uf cap, buy the $20 kit, and if you have the 6.6/4 uf capacitors, buy the $10 kit. The $10 kit has two 6.5 uf caps, two 4 uf caps, and two 0.1 uf caps that you can wire in parallel with the 6.5 uf caps to make a 6.6 uf cap. This listing is set up so you can select whichever set of caps you need. These are fairly easy to install as long as you know what you're doing. You will need a decent soldering iron, solder, a Philips and/or flathead screwdriver, wire cutters, and a hot glue gun or rubber cement to aid in mounting the caps. The new caps are larger than the originals, because they are much higher-quality. They will still fit just fine.
