Description: Rare Vintage James B. Hall’s Orig. Mi-Dia Brands Cigar Tin w/full Paper Label. I don’t smoke but I do love old (early 20thcentury) tins with their original paper labels. They are very rare. So when Ifound this beautiful tin in an antique store outside Akron, Ohio, I just had tohave it. It was just that good. James B. Hall used a beautiful young woman to advertise itsMi-Dia brand of cigars. Around thisbeautiful miss is embossed gold name, gold coins, flowers and palm trees. Thetin is designed to hold 100 James B. Hall’s Original 5 Mi-Dia Brands Class A cigars. The cigars were to only besold by the Edwin Cigar Co., 100 E. 16th St., NY, What makes this tin so extraordinary is the paper label isintact – on the top and all around the tin itself. The Cigars were made inFactory C.327, District No. 2 New York (information provided on the bottom onthe tin--see photo). The bottom has three holes. I’ve never taken the top off the tin – although I’ve had it at least 50years. I was always worried that I might tear the fragile paper label. It’sjust a beautiful tin – lithography is just extraordinary. It’s almost 6 in. talland 7-1/2 in. in diameter. The tin and the paper are not perfect. The tin has rust andthe paper labels has wear and tear and some stains. But you have to expect something like that ina tin more than 100 years old. But this is a great example of periodadvertising for James B. Hall spared no expense to provide the best Class Acigars and a tin equal to the cigar’s quality. And to make it even better, a portion of the proceeds ofthis sale goes to Feeding America, which is especially needed in this day andage.
