Description: Rare Vintage Group Photo at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, Israel Palestine. The group of European or Americans in late 18th – early 19th century clothing is indeed at the Al-Aqsa Mosque (Dome of the Rock), in Jerusalem. Perhaps, they’re a group of pilgrims/tourists on a trip to “the Holy Land.” A few men wear local dress. By looking very closely, it appears that a few persons have been added after the original photo was taken. They look away and seem as planted within the scene. Please check carefully the picture and the close up views. This is an exceptional photograph for anyone interested in the history of the Middle East. I identified the stamp behind the group picture. These photographs were taken by Garabed Krikorian (1847-1920) or his son Johannes Krikorian who joined the studio in 1913. Many of them are preserved at the Library of Congress. Sales are final, no exchanges nor returns. I do combine shipping. The photo will be safely packed. Thank for looking!
