*Rare* VIKING MT.VERNON PERSIMMON 12 OZ TUMBLERS MCM

Description: For your consideration Extremely Rare VIKING ~ MT.VERNON Persimmon 12 OZ Tumblers. These mid-century modern tumblers measure approximately 5 1/4" tall x 3 1/8" inches each. The Mt. Vernon pressed glass pattern has a panel & crosshatch design. Persimmon is a stunning, vivid tangerine/orange color with the ability to brighten any room. Crafted In United States these glasses are discontinued as the company closed its doors in 1984. These tumblers are in extremely clean and well cared for condition ~ no clouding ~ no chip's ~ cracks ~ breaks or repairs. I have 8 tumblers available. I am selling them singly as replacements, but am also willing to discount if bundled together - if you plan to buy multiples. Just message me with any questions! A FYI on Viking Glass colors ~***Viking introduced a burst of color into its product lines in 1951, first with evergreen, amber, ebony, cobalt blue, sky blue, and ruby colors, and then in 1953 adding amethyst, charcoal, cherry glo, colonial blue, harvest gold, persimmon and olive green to the mix. New colors continued to be added into the 1960s but by 1964, the Company had reduced the number of color choices from over 30 to seven: amberina, avocado green, bluenique, crystal, honey, persimmon, and ruby. In 1984, The Vikings Glass Co. closed its doors. Subsequent owners closed the company forever in 1998. The tag, or paper label used by Viking Glass, has long ago disappeared. The pattern, and color, though, unmistakably point to a Viking Glass creation.
