Description: In April 2003, playing cards were given to United States troops to help them identify Iraqi targets. The cards were first announced publicly by Brigadier General Vincent K Brooks. Within days the demand for these cards hit a fevered pitch in the collector market. Since there had been very few decks made for distribution to Middle East embassies, the Pentagon contracted with United States Playing Card Company, holders of the Hoyle, and Bicycle playing card brands, to produce more sets. The cards I am selling were originally ordered in those first few days of being produced. These cards without the "IRAQI Most Wanted" printing on the outside of each deck, and without the cellophane wrapping were the very first examples shipped to the public. The boxes with the printing on each sealed deck took longer to manufacture and they needed to get the decks into the hands of the selling, and collecting public ASAP. These decks have been stored in a dry, smoke-free storage warehouse since they were first received in early May of 2003. These unprinted boxes are genuine, first printing versions and are very rare.
