RARE Original TOM BARIL 'WASHINGTON DC' Portfolio of 10 PHOTOGRAVURES -Proof Set

Description: ORIGINAL TOM BARIL (b 1952) 'WASHINGTON DC' PORTFOLIO OF 10 PHOTOGRAVURES This is a great piece. I have actually handled a few Tom Baril works in the past and have seen his important photogravure portfolio of New York City, but had never come across this portfolio before. In fact with my research, it seems as though this one is quite rare. I have not actually found the complete portfolio having sold at auction. I have found a gallery selling these photogravures individually for nearly $1000 a piece. For those not familiar with Baril, I have included his biography below. This is portfolio was done in an edition of 50. This is actually a proof edition done before the edition of 50. These are not signed and numbered but guaranteed to be the original photogravures by Baril. Complete set of 10 on sheets measuring 17 x 21 1/4 inches with images varying in size but most around 11 x 13 inches. All are in perfect condition as printed. All are framed between 2 pieces of glass with an archival stripe of adhesive along the top verso to keep them in place in the glass. I debated taking them out and having them unframed but really the grouping together is really stunning and the frames make for an incredible presentation or hung separately throughout a home. Simple metal black frames are complimentary and have hooks verso ready for wire for hanging. Frames measure 26 1/2 x 22 1/2 inches. Do your own research on this portfolio.
