Rare Original Painting by American Indian Artist Kevin Red Star Shaman#3 1971

Description: Welcome and thank you for visiting my auction. For your consideration this very rare and very beautiful original signed painting done by American Indian artist Kevin Red Star. If you know his work, then you understand that this is an incredibly rare find. This has been in my family since 1971 or 1972. It was purchased by my great aunt when she was on an adventure out West. The Native American artwork of Kevin Red Star has been featured at the Whitney, the Smithsonian, the Denver Art Museum, the Heard Museum, the CM Russell Museum, the Institute of American Indian Arts Museum and countless other museums and galleries around the world. His work is beautiful and enthralling. This piece is magical and it will bring an aura of positivity to your life. I believe that it is magical. I really don’t want to sell it but my art collection is vast and I think it would be nice for this piece to go to a new home where it will be greatly appreciated as it has been for the last 50 years with my family. This is a stunning example of his early work that was done soon after Kevin became a member of the first group of students at the Institute of American Indian Art in Santa Fe in the late 1960s. Kevin Red Star grew up on the Crow reservation in southern Montana and he is a member of a highly creative family. He is still producing amazing art work today. You can see an array of his work at the Kevin Red Star Gallery in Red Lodge, Montana. You can check out the website and see that some of his pieces are incredibly valuable and in my opinion many of them are priceless like this one. The painting measures approximately 21“ x 17“ and the frame measures approximately 24“ x 28“. The frame has somewhere on it because it is over 50 years old and the back of the frame has heavy cardboard and I have sealed it up with fine quality gaff tape. This is a stunning and vibrant and magical work of art, and it deserves to be admired for another 50 years or of course much longer.
