Description: Being offered is an Unusual Piece of NASA Space Shuttle History! This "Hands Test Adapter Assembly" was made by BOEING in conjunction with ILC Dover, for use in the testing the Glove of the Launch Entry Suit. The Launch Entry Suit (LES) or "pumpkin suit", was a partial pressure suit worn by all space crews for the ascent and entry portions of flight from STS-26 (1988) to STS-65 (1994). It was completely phased out by STS-88 in Late 1998 and replaced by the ACES Suit. The suit was manufactured by the David Clark Company. P/N 528-20380-1, SN 1011 Made of Plexiglass, it measures 3 7/16" wide by 12 1/4" long, and is 7/32" thick. Original Acquisition cost was $2100.00 Condition is excellent, and includes pink plastic storage pouch with NASA Identification Stickers. I originally had this listed as being used with the Phase IV Space Suit, but have been informed by someone that worked on both that it more likely would have been used with the LES.
