Description: Up for auction is a rare item from "long gone" commuter airline Metro Airlines. Metro was based at a stoll airport near Houston's Ellington (formerly AFB) Airport. They were the first commuter airline to become part of the American Eagle system. This brass and other metal plaque was awarded to pilot Harold E. West after completing 5000 flight hours with Metro. On the back is the name of the company providing the plaque (Tropar Trophy Co. Inc.) and the date 1974. It looks as though it might have been mounted on a wood or some other kind of backing. It measures 12" tall and 8 1/2" wide. It weighs one pound. Not perfect but a very rare and unusual piece of Metro's history. I have one other item from Metro listed separately. Shipping in a protective box is 10.50 within the contiguous U.S.
