Description: Begonia bognerii is an extremely rare plant found in 1969 on a Northeastern facing canyon in Madagascar. At the time it was an isolated rainswept valley far removed from humans and probably now is a 12 lane highway. Its grass-like leaves and red central core sets it apart from all other begonias; plus the pink flowers add a nice touch. Mr. Bogner was very excited when he found this unique plant and it is a true gem in the terrarium especially grown vertically out of a rock as it does in nature.
