Born in St. Petersburg, Russia to French parents, Beraud relocated to France becoming a student of Leon Bonnat, at the Ecole Beaux-Arts and the Lycee Bonaparte. Beraud is best known for scenes depicting Parisian society and life and Paris nightlife during the Belle Epoque. His style was close to impressionism and the Academic. He became friends of Manet and Degas and was the recipient of numerous exhibitions and awards. He was awarded the Legion D' honneur in 1894 and his works are in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, National Gallery in London, the Tate, the Louvre Museum, Musee d'Orsay, the Art Institute of Chicago and others with numerous exhibitions throughout the world with a special exhibition at the 1894 World's Fair.Printed 1885 Paris, France, Henry Harvard, Group & Cie, Libraire D' Art, printed on "Holland", Marbled parchment, some foxing.
