It is one of a series named with a ghostly theme. Aptly so I am afraid as these leaves are similar to those scalloped and clawed wings of that minion of the dark. A bat! Inspired of the demon bird and appended with the same wavy pointed edges and dark bat colored tones. There are many things not leaves that do rustle with the wind. The contrasting leaf ribs do disturbingly resemble those familiar protruding veins. It is a morbid canopy that protects those hosta and fern from the burning light of day.
