Description: COLLECTORS! This is a variety of Japanese maple in the Acer Palmatum Family called "Japanese Sunrise". A nice mid sized tree to about 10'tall and wide, smaller in containers. It is known for the spectacular bark colors in winter. Pink/red on the sunny side of the stem and blends around to gold/orange on the shade side. Leaves are light green in spring and summer. Much sought after cultivar! Lends great effects to perennial and fern/hosta plantings. Fall foliage is a great yellow/gold with orange highlights. The first photo exhibits the impact this cultivar can have in a landscape if sited right. This one sits at the edge of my yard where it catches the edge of the beam from a simple yard light.
