Description: Wonderful and rare World War I Yeomanette photograph and postwar Certificate of Recognition from the Daughters of the American Revolution. The card was presented to one Ethel Werner, who had served in the US Navy as a Yeomanette during the First World War. The Certificate was signed by Chapter President Alice Townsend, who had served in the Army Nurse Corps during World War II as a 2nd Lieutenant. The accompanying photograph was removed from a photograph album, and as you can see she proudly wears her US Navy Jumper with the Yeoman rate on her sleeve. Only 11,000 Yeomanettes served in the First Wold War, making related material very rare on today's market. Both items remain in good condition, showing signs of age, use, and wear. Please see the pictures for more detail. Guaranteed 100% authentic in every respect for life. Be sure to see our other listings for more historical antiques and militaria.
