Description: This dining pin was limited to Annual Passholders who made a single food purchase of $30 or more (after tax and any discounts) at selected restaurants throughout DLR, DCA, and the Disneyland Hotel. This is pin number 7 in the "5 Decades of Disney Dining" series available to Annual Passholders. Pin features Donald Duck dressed as a lovable Caballero standing on the patio of the original restaurant. He is playing a trumpet, and is wearing a yellow sombrero, a green shirt and a red coat/jacket. There are black musical notes coming from the horn. The inside lid of the presentation box reads: "This Wild West diner opened to Frontierland Guests on August 11, 1955 under the name of Casa de Fritos. The restaurant featured Mexican entrees and a unique chip dispenser that became a favorite among youngsters. On October 1, 1982, the restaurant was reopened as Casa Mexicana and continued to dish up hearty Mexican food. In the year 2001, the restaurant was completely re-themed as Rancho del Zocalo, a beautiful Spanish hacienda that kindles the spirit of California's romance and hertitage. 'El Zocalo' means 'the square' which, in the Southwest and Mexico as far back as the Aztecs, was the center of the town or marketplace. The legend behind Rancho del Zocalo tells of a rich Spanish land owner who, in celebration of the bounty and blessings of his good life, kindly opened his home to weary the weary traveler in need of a place to rest." Size: approx. 1 3/4" H x 1 3/8" W.
