Here is a rare Crocodilian fossil tooth from the world-famous fossil beds of Fossil Lake, Green River Formation, Wyoming. From the Eocene 52 million years ago. Yes, there were a few crocodilian reptiles in the ancient lake. This tooth is in-Situ, meaning "in the original place". This sharp little tooth is in the same area as it was originally left, which is rare. The soft silt is now rock-hard. Other sites have cheaper crocodile teeth, but in-Situ from Fossil Lake is truly uncommon. The tooth is about 12 mm. (0.47"). The plate it was found on is about 3.7" by 4.4", and it weighs 1 lb. 9.5 oz. Superb for anyone interested in Fossil Lake or paleontology in general.We invite you to visit our store.
