It was usually made of an albumen print, which was a thin paper photograph mounted onto a thicker paper card. The size of a CDV is generally 5.4.cm (2.125 in) × 8.9 cm (3.5 in) mounted on a card sized 6.4 cm (2.5 in) × 10.0 cm (4 in).
