Description: Selling a RARE Carl Zeiss JENA Biotar 5.8cm f/2 Standard Lens - Exakta Mount - Pre War This copy of the lens is in good condition for its age. There are some slight marks on the front and back element (see photos with backlight). Contrast might be impacted, though it should not impact the lens significantly. This level of wear is consistent with its age and other copies of the lens. The body of the lens is in very good condition. This is an 8 bladed version. Blades are very clean and in great condition. These were manufactured from 1936 to 1945. The serial number is 3015351. No fungus or lens separation. There are a few bubbles in the lens from manufacturing. Lens focus is very smooth. Feels like it was CLA'd yesterday, was likely last serviced in 2001. The aperture is also quite smooth. Does not come with lens caps.
