Description: This listing is for a vintage BRILUX for DUNHILL Swiss Brass Lift Arm Table/ pocket lighter. It is believed to be circa 1950, Made in Switzerland by Brilux and distributed by Dunhill. It is a beautifully made brass lighter a with spring lift arm & flint mechanism where the spring is contained in a shaft with a plunger at the end to push the flint - so the spring never gets jammed or damaged. The lighter is finely constructed with a mix of casted and hand-machined parts. It is an excellent piece for collectors of tobacciana, lighters, and more. A great gift, or item for personal use/ display. It is in very good condition, with a strong spring still. I have not deeply cleaned it to avoid removing any of the pleasing patina it has acquired. It sparks when you trigger the mechanism, I have not replaced the flint (which I assume to be original), and am unsure how many more uses it has. I also, in an attempt to keep it clean as possible, have not put any lighter fluid in it. The wick is perfectly dry, and I assumed the inside is clean & also dry. I would assume that with the addition of fluid, it would work perfectly. It has a few spots that could be cleaned off at the buyers discretion. It is Stamped "Swiss Made" on the underside.
