Description: Estate find, as is. Excellent condition. No chips, repairs or cracks observed. Please check pictures for close-ups. From the book “The porcelain art of Edward Marshall Boehm” by Reese Palley: RPC-408 LAMB, bisque, decorated (RP- 413) 50 made* This charming little sculpture (7½" x 4½") depicts a sitting Lamb with its left foreleg extended in front and bent at the knee with the right foreleg tucked under the right side, hind legs together and forward in front of the body. This piece was intro- duced in 1957 and appears only on two lists, 1957 and 1959. It carries Boehm Stu- diomark Number 305 and it has been as- sumed to have been produced in a quantity of about 150. However, from its merchan- dizing history, and from the fact that few examples of this piece have come to light, we must conclude that the 150 figure is too high and far fewer (perhaps as few as 50) were actually produced.
