Description: RARE, beautiful, and unique Victorian ornate house gingerbread or fretwork piece in nice original condition! One of the nicest that I've ever seen! If this looks pinkish in a couple pictures it's because of the lighting. This is bare wood and light brown in color like the first picture. It is not painted. Both sides are shown in the pictures. This was an outdoor porch trim piece. Mostly bare wood as the old paint has been removed and there are only small traces of old paint in a few spots in crevices, etc. which just adds to it's authenticity. Easy to refinish or repaint if desired, but it also looks great as-is. Authentic 1880's to 90's piece from a Victorian home! Very hard to find! A beautiful design with a mixture or scrollwork, large stars, and running trim, with a large center acorn shaped drop finial. A very special piece! Measures: 62 1/2" wide, 24" tall on the ends, 2 3/4" thick at the top rail. Weighs approx. 18 lbs. unpacked. (Not too heavy to hang on a wall) This could be hung in a window or high doorway, on a porch, or as an interesting wall decorator piece. It could also be repurposed in other ways. I've seen a similar piece used as a bedroom headboard which looked great! This has two small pieces attached to the back for hanging, but they can easily be removed if not needed. Solid wood with only minor signs of aging for an antique piece over 120 years old. One area along one side of the top has some worn wood. There are small chips and cracks in a few spots, which are not very noticeable. Please see the detailed pictures for more on the condition and style. This is a solid and sturdy piece.
