Description: This large antique treen needle case is sizable enough to hold thimbles and other darning or embroider’s tool. It could also take on the task of a darner. Turned on a lathe from dark walnut, this rare piece boasts a beautiful acorn shape and a stunning patent. Dating back to the American Civil War era, this needle case is a genuine antique original that is sure to impress any collectors of antique sewing equipment or treen. Condition: there is a small (.6”) crack in the rim of the cover; it is more visible from inside. Also the wood has shrunk so the fit of the cover to base is very loose. 4.1” Long 2.2” Diameter (at the widest of the larger section)
