Rare Antique Early 19th C Floral Chintz Cotton Fabric Border ~ Brown Green Coral

Description: Thrilled to have discovered a bit more of this gorgeous extremely rare cloth as the other I had listed all sold. An absolutely beautiful & very rare to find late 1700’s - early 19th century antique cotton. An early chintz without the heavy glaze. Gorgeous unique design in brown, green, coral & cream. This is a more slender border piece. Most likely salvaged from an early quilt I imagine. A wonderful textile for many authentic early projects, restoration work or added to an archive or collection. I think it would also frame beautifully due to it’s marvelous unique design & palette. Condition is overall very good for it’s early age. Strong. Some remnants of old threads on the outer edges & I noted some scattered very petite pinhead breaks when held up to the light in some areas. Doesn’t take away from the overall piece or it’s strength. All inherent qualities of early chintz of this age. Again, very good overall for it’s age, former use & handling through the years. ~Measures~ a bit over 5” wide by 24” long. I can keep your length selected uncut up to “3” selected, so up to 5” wide by 72” long can be sent in one length as I am working with two longer lengths of this one.
