Description: Rare ant plant Pachycentria glauca rooted cuttings, growing quickly and branching out with new growths. Shipped USPS Priority with free insulation + heat if required. Pachycentria glauca is a small, epiphytic shrub in the family Melastomataceae that is indigenous to Borneo, Sumatra, and Peninsular Malaysia. Often found growing interwined in ant gardens, the leaves excrete clear nutrient-rich drops called pearl bodies that serve as a source of food for their ant neighbors. Very easy and undemanding plant. Substrate should be kept moist at all times. My preferred substrate is sphagnum moss. Precocious bloomer followed by self-fertilized berries that remind me of teeny-tiny urn shaped tomatoes. Seeds will germinate quickly. Mother plant shown in photos 1 and 2. Example size of available propagations in photos 3 and 4. Please be mindful of your weather. Packages left outside/mailboxes in the heat or cold for even a short period of time can end up killing the plants. Please make sure you will be home to bring the plant indoors as soon as package is delivered. No refunds due to weather damage or USPS delays. Combined shipping available for multiple plants. Please contact for more photos or questions. Will be shipped Monday/Tuesday following the purchase. Happy Bidding!
