Requires 3 AA Batteries (not included). I am unable to test the voice box since the original test batteries no longer work. Replacing them would require removing the doll from the original packaging and void the integrity of this new item. I have no reason to believe the voice doesn't work since the item is new and hasn't been tampered with.
