Description: This rare 1920s German “Grathwohl-Kartal" litho hinged 50 cigarette tin is in good condition with no rust, one dent and some minor age related paint scratches and chips. Much of the original high gloss finish remains. The hinge is in excellent working order. This higly attractive Art Deco green, gold and black tin was designed by Ludwig Hohlwein. It features a black and gold checkered lid with an image of an Egyptian woman smoking a cigarette. The cigarettes were manufactured by Cigaretenfabrik WF Grathwohl Kommanditgesellschaft, Munich, Germany.
