Description: ( CELL PHONE USERS PLEASE CLICK THE "SEE FULL DESCRIPTION" LINK BELOW FOR MORE DETAILS AND PHOTOGRAPHS! ) Important 18th Century Fur Trappers/Native American Powder Horn & Leather Patch/Shot Pouch - SCARCE Click images to enlarge Description Up for Consideration is a Rare Important Mid 18th/Early 19th Century Powder Horn and Leather Patch/Shot Pouch once belonging to either a Fur Trapper or Native American made due to the crudeness of the carved Horn, carved Wooden Plugs and Stitching. c1750's-1820 Offered to you is this Amazing Original Museum Quality 18th Century American made Powder Horn and Leather Shot Bag combination. This entire piece is solid and complete with the leather being a bit stiff at the shoulder strap. One side has come untied but Not broken. The crudely carved horn measures 11.0 inches long by 2.75 inches wide.there is a beautifully carved wooden plug with a crisscross or X design. The Horn is attached on either end by leather ties, one going directly through the outer edge of the tail of the horn. Attached to this is a hand Sewn Leather Pouch most likely for Shot as it has a large spout and another carved wood Plug with the same Criss-Cross designs. Each Plug is attached to the shoulder strap so the cant get separated. The Shot or Patch Bag measures 9.0 inches long by 2.75 inches wide. The Hand sewn Shoulder Strap measures 35.0 inches long by 0.80 inches wide. Condition is Good on both Horn and Leather which should be conditioned professionally down the line. We believe this Rare Piece was made and used by either an 18th/19th Century Fur Trapper or more Likely a Native American Tribe such as the Seminole Indians. This is an Ex-Museum Piece which had previously been on display in a Private Collection in Worcester, Massachusetts for many years!
