Description: KING'S MOUNTAIN AND ITS HEROES: History of the Battle of King's Mountain, October 7th, 1780, and the Events Which Led to It. By Lyman C. Draper Published: Peter G. Thomson, Cincinnati, 1881. FIRST EDITION. 1st Edition/1st Printing hardcover. This book is typically found in poor condition, though this copy is better than most I have sold in the past. The inner hinges are cracked and starting, but still holding. The book absolutely needs to be handled with care. The front endpaper is lacking on one half. The spine cover is attached but cut along one edge and is lifting a bit. Internally clean save for a few faint patches of foxing. Based on material gathered over a forty-year period from survivors of the engagement, their descendants, contemporary narratives, and original documents. It contains extensive sketches, notices, and biographies of the leading figures, including considerable genealogical data I've done my best to describe the book, but if you have additional questions, please don't hesitate to send me an e-mail.
