Description: For your consideration: From my personal collection of amazing hard-to-find and in very short supply esoteric vintage mixers in the same league as some of the most sought after rotary mixers (Bozak, Urei, GLI, Vestax, Rane, Crest just to name a few) for sale is an extremely, rarely seen most coveted of the Rane classics, a non-other than the original mp-24z. Hi Irrespective of its warm and full bodied sonic attributes, hands down the mp-24z was perhaps one of the cool-looking specimen amongst the chosen-few of amazing analog dj mixers in all shape & form ever rolled out of the assembly-line in the height of dance club culture back in the day. Unequivocally breathtaking to behold and satisfying to hear transparency of sound! You'll be hard pressed not to own an almost unattainable, most coveted highly desirable industry-standard Rane legacy to date. The mp-24z model definitely is a pure gem find remnant from the time when the universe was once revolved around analog domain and the ubiquitous "ones and zeros" of its day were simply kindergarten material in audio world. Prior to posting, this timeless neo-classic design specimen showcased here was literally just sitting on the shelf display inactive virtually suspended in a time capsule since the Reagan administration. Up until recently it has gone through a barrage of tests and endless hours of complete general check-up which included but not limited to: Upgraded knobs modeled to look more like a "Rotary" style mixer. Moreover, replaced other ones with less imposing black shinny flushed-caps to simplify panel appearance hence less busy to eye. Buffed, detailed clean every crevice and every line, deoxit, lubricate all pertinent moving mechanical parts to ensure proper contact with some retouching involved in the refurbishing process. It may take you another generation seeking to acquire the last of Rane's finest in this state of condition. The opportunity presents itself to just own it..buy it simply for style, nostalgia or for posterity, but don't deny yourself from acquiring this Vintage Transistorized piece of history that its relevance continues to persist almost in full circle today by a deserving future owner, audiophiles, niche analog enthusiasts and purveyors of all things unique. Conversely, It is an investment that is worth the "Wait" in gold! On bench-test, everything works everything works as should. HOWEVER, if I remember correctly, No signal passes in the "Booth Level" output. On that note, although the unit works as described, the item is being sold "AS IS". Therefore, this sale is final and must be prepared to tackle the challenge and able to find necessary fix or remedy to get this piece of transistorized classic in full scale operational capacity. Equally as rare, is a Cerwin Vega DM-3 fitted with nicest knobs and faders. (photos 9-to-14, $1499) The dm-3 warm-sound attributes is as pure an analog as they come! After sitting dormant and idly inactive as a display specimen only for sometime, it has gone through a complete tune-up, hours invested in the process and given a good bill of heath. 2. Also for sale on another posting, a Numark/PPD's earlier classic flagship rotary dj mixer..the elusive MMX-2000 in it's original form and in unused state racked only for personal studio display collection purposes. (photos 15-to-18, $3299) The equally unique custom case and DBX 3BX series II shown in the pictures are not included in the sale but can be be purchased separately. The MMX-2000 is scarce and even much harder to come by than its legendary counterpart, the Bozak or Urei (image-19 of both rotary legends in my studio). History will dictate as the surplus continues to spin out of depletion, yet the demand is gaining momentum for these esoteric mixers is on the incline, one can only speculate it's an investment that is worth the "wait" in gold...So the opportunity presents itself to grab a piece of legacy while it lasts, perhaps an addition to your existing collection of great mixers for the sake of posterity, style, sound or simply experience what other true DJs only fantasize about...own it and wonder no more! Hours spent given a 20-point tune up, deoxit all knobs and controls including all relevant connections to ensure proper contact, buffed and detailed clean every crevice to free from dust with even some retouching involved in the process. Like any vintage gears, trace of some minimal virtually inconspicuous signs of wear due to age is almost always expected, but in no way impede or even deflect your appreciation for its aesthetic beauty and functionality. You'll be hard pressed to find another of this exceptional condition no doubt. What's under the hood? well not all rotary DJ mixers are created equal, the mmx-2000 is perhaps the ultimate utilitarian mixer I've ever encountered in recent memory. And with the fundamental understanding of audio in/out implementation, configuration of all imaginable routing combination is possible with the mmx-2000. It offers 4 microphones each with send/receive I/Os or effect loops, 3 turntables/phonos, again with individual effect loops which is unheard of and a delegated crossfader for phono 1 and 2 only, situated on the top corner. Logically added for optional conveniencebut ergonomically isolated from the layout...after all it is a Rotary! Matrix style 6 line/aux inputs assignable to any of the 4 rotary channels, 3 band eq per channel and 2 band eq for the L/R master output. LED type vu meter with sensitivity calibration of 4db and -10db headroom (balanced/unbalanced) to achieve precise mixing at all times is such a bliss to have. Processor loops, tape A/B plus a myriad of outputs are also available perfect for summing application in any studio and suffice to say the best mixer surpasses my specs expectation requirements! 3.
