Here is what you will get: This is a pre-release advance poster for the Ralph Bakshi 1978 animated movie version of J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings." Measures 22" x 30". The text at the bottom says "The Lord of the Rings A Fantasy Films Presentation to be released nationally November, 1978 by United Artists. Directed by Ralph Bakshi. Produced by Saul Zaentz. Copyright 1978 Tolkein Enterprises, Berkeley, Calif. 94710. Printed in U.S.A." CONDITION: On a scale of "Like New," "Very Good," "Good," "Fair" and "Poor," I would put this somewhere between "Good" and "Fair," because it has a lot of flaws: "roll ridges," marks on back, color-breaking crimps and impressions, minor edgewear. The most notable flaws are on the back, where five areas have been taped. Explanation: Back in my foolish youth, I used to put strips of tape at the back corners of posters. That was not to fix rips or tears, but so the tape loops I used to hang a poster on a wall would detach easily from the poster later when I took it down (without taking any of the paper along with the tape loop, in other words, because the loops were stuck to the tape and not the paper). All four back corners of this poster, as well as the center of the top edge, are taped that way (see close-up photos). (Note: If you see a faint gray circle near the right edge of any of my photos, just above the middle, it is not a mark on the poster. I realized too late -- as in "after I took dozens of photos" -- that a speck of dust was on my camera lens. Oops. It is most visible on pix of the white reverse sides of posters. Sorry!) Priority Mail shipping is so much more expensive than Ground Advantage that I bought a bunch of those mailing boxes in order to mail my posters by that MUCH cheaper method. (The other advantage: Because they are rectangular, not the triangular type provided by the post office for Priority Mail use, they are not classified as irregular "nonrectangular" packages.) The Ground Advantage price still isn't exactly cheap, because USPS puts a surcharge on any large (long) packages like this regardless of shipping method, so be sure to check the eBay shipping calculator above before bidding. But Ground Advantage is up to $14.00 cheaper than Priority, comes with the same tracking and insurance, and often is just as fast! International shipping will be higher (probably MUCH higher), and only through eBay's Global Shipping Program. I get only the same amount a US winner would pay, while eBay sets the price and gets the rest.
