Description: Ptolemaic Egypt, Ptolemy VI (?), ae 29, 180-145 B.C., Sear 7900, 29 mm diameter, 21.8 gm. The obverse shows the diademed head of Zeus Ammon, to the right. The reverse shows two eagles, standing left on a thunderbolt, side by side. The two eagles on the reverse may be symbolic of the joint rule of Ptolemy VI and his younger brother, 170- 164 B.C. Both side are a nice dark brown color, The face and hair detail of Zeus is still showing good detail, and the two eagles on the reverse still retain most of their feather detail. There are letters near the rims in front of and back of the eagles. This is a genuine original coin, not a copy, replica, or reproduction.
