The inscriptions to the pictures are in Latin, and the ornamental borders are filled with scenes from Aesop's Fables and with figures of of fabulous animals. According to the condition the tapestry was the work of Matilda, the Conqueror's Queen, but it was more probably executed by Norman ladies to the order of his half-brother, Odo, Bishop of Bayeux.Measurements: Approximately 8.5 x 10.25 inches.
