This is a hard-to-find & desirable Etruscan majolica Morning Glory cakestand circa 1880s. It is very clean/vivid and in excellent condition as I did not find any chip, crack, repair, but it has a very short/tight hairline to its rim as seen in the last enlarged picture, The colors are great and appealing, and it is a wonderful majolica for collectors. A similar piece can be found on page 31 of the Encyclopedia of Majolica as this was what the author said, "This hard-to-find compote does not usually turn up in very good condition....it was valued for $800-900 in 2001."
