Description: [Americana; Presidential Autograph] KING JAMES BIBLE Presentation Copy Inscribed and Signed by thePresident of the United States of America President Richard M. Nixon Feb. 2, 1973 Washington, D.C. THE HOLY BIBLE, CONTAINING THE OLD AND NEW TESTAMENTS... LONDON AND NEW YORK: COLLINS CLEAR-TYPE PRESS. Bible in English [Richard M. Nixon, Signed] A fine-association copy and rare piece, a leather bound copy of the King James Version, inscribed and signed by President Richard M. Nixon on the dedication page to James Lynn, Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, on February 2, 1973. Lynn served as General Counsel at the Department of Commerce (1969-1971), UnderSecretary at the Department of Commerce (1971-1973), and Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (1973-1974) under the Nixon Administration. Richard Milhouse Nixon was the 37th President of the United States, serving from 1969-1974. President Nixon's accomplishments while in office included ending American fighting in Vietnam War, improving international relations, ending the military draft, new anticrime laws, and a broad environmental program. As promised, he appointed Justices of conservative philosophy to the Supreme Court. One of the most dramatic events of his first term occurred in 1969, when American astronauts made the first moon landing. Following the Watergate scandal, Nixon resigned from office on August 9th, 1974. In his last years, Nixon gained praise as an elder statesman. He wrote numerous books on his experiences in public life and on foreign policy. This Bible was signed by President Nixon during his second term (won in a landslide election) and is inscribed to a member of his cabinet. As a symbol of Western Civilization and the foundation of American values, the significance of this item cannot be overstated. Gifted by the President of the United States to a senior member of his administration, this signed Bible is a tangible piece of history. Quite rare. Provenance: President Richard M. Nixon (1913-1994); Secretary James Lynn (1927-2010); Lynn Family by Descent. _____________________________________ Items listed on eBay are merely representative of our broader inventory.
